Italiano20,000 albums? We can hardly believe it!
Well, it seems like just a few months ago we were celebrating 10,000 albums published on jamendo and this weekend we passed the 20,000 album mark!
Actually, it was 11 months ago to be precise. Look at it this way and you’ll understand why we’re the first to be impressed with the figures: it will have taken jamendo 3 years to gather 10,000 albums, and then just under one year later, that number has doubled!
It’s pretty safe to say we’re going strong. And even safer to say it’s all thanks to you: artists, members and everyone contributing to spread the word of free music!
So, who’s placing bets on reaching the 30,000 mark?
Eight months? Six?…

I have to applaude Jamando on a wonderful idea, service, and committment to indie artists! I have six albums on Jamendo, and I’m very pleased with all that they offer. Congrats on a remarkable achievement! Bravo Jamendo!

Después dirán las discográficas en los juicios contra las redes P2P que no conocen Jamendo. En poco más de cuatro años y medio ya llevan más de 20 mil discos bajo licencia copyleft. Si las majors mienten hacen su trabajo, si realmente lo desconoc…

I do recommend the spanish group called “Vespertine Creation” (their albums are suitable in Jamendo). They rule!!

Jamendo succeeds in creating a platform for people to share music with one another. We’ve moved from a music culture in which music is handed to us “from on high” by large corporations and “vetted” for us by magazine writers centered in a very few cities. We’ve entered instead a new time when music can be liberated into the marketplace of ideas—to be lost in the crowds, or found, with miraculous results.
