It went so fast we hardly realized it: jamendo recently hit the 500,000 members mark, with exactly 505,043 members today.
This means that now over half a million people are discovering 16,351 albums, sharing them with their friends, creating playlists and posting widgets, discussing in our forums and supporting their favorite artists.

I always knew I would be a writer. Perhaps I have always been a writer. I have always been an observer, a storyteller, a lover of language, and those seem to be the parts of me in which my writer self is rooted.
An only child, necessity made my imagination my best friend. I spent my days making up stories in my head, acting them out on my own, with the occasional visiting friend, or with my dolls.
I learned to read early and quickly, the nuances of language coming to me as easily as breath. I read every book my mother gave me. I tried to take home more books than the library permitted, and spent every penny of my allowance in the bookstore.
I wrote my first story at age six, on that wide-ruled brownish paper that felt dry to the touch. I hated the feel of that paper, but it didn’t stop me from writing. Throughout grade school, my teachers praised my stories, and th
