Les titres de cette playlist ont tous été publiés il y a au moins 18 moins (presque 3 ans pour certains), et ils valent toujours la peine qu’on y jette une oreille !

Quant aux artistes qui les ont créés, ils ne font certes pas partie des plus populaires du site, mais ils ont tous contribué à faire de jamendo ce que c’est aujourd’hui. Merci à eux !

This friday, instead of focusing on new releases, let’s take a look in the rearview mirror and turn our attention to some artists who have been on jamendo for a while.

The tracks in this playlist were all published at least 18 months ago (nearly 3 years for some of them), and we think they’re all still well worth a listen.

As for the artists who created them, though they may not be among the most popular on the site, they all contributed to making jamendo what it is today. So thank you!

Diese Woche geht es mal nicht um Neuzugänge auf Jamendo. Stattdessen werfen wir einen Blick zurück und wenden uns Künstlern zu, die schon länger auf Jamendo sind.

Die Tracks in dieser Playlist sind alle seit mindestens 18 Monaten online, manche sogar schon seit fast 3 Jahren und zeigen noch keine Anzeichen von Altersschwäche.

Auch wenn die Künstler nicht ganz vorne in der Beliebtheitsskala der Jamendo-User rangieren, haben sie doch mit ihrer Musik dazu beigetragen, Jamendo zu dem zu machen was es heute ist. Danke dafür!

Things have started to take off in the last few weeks on the licensing front here at jamendo. We have more and more professionals coming to us – literally every day - who are looking for music for a website, a DVD, a documentary, a TV series, etc. That means there are more and more artists who are starting to reap the benefits of authorizing jamendo to license their music!

De plus en plus de professionnels s’adressent à nous tous les jours car ils ont besoin de musique pour un site web, un DVD, une série télé, un documentaire, etc. Ce qui signifie que de plus en plus d’artistes commencent à récolter les bénéfices sonnants et trébuchants d’avoir autorisé jamendo à licencier leur musique !

La semaine prochaine, ici même, nous vous livrerons quelques exemples récents de contrats que nous avons signés qui se sont matérialisés sous forme d’argent dans les poches des artistes…

Neues von der Lizensierungsfront bei Jamendo: in den letzten Wochen hat sich einiges getan. Immer mehr Kunden kommen auf uns zu, auf der Suche nach Musik für ihre Website, eine DVD, Dokumentationen, Fernsehserien oder oder oder… Das bedeutet, dass immer mehr Künstler auf ihrem Bankkonto sehen, dass es sich lohnt, ihre Musik bei Jamendo zu lizensieren!

Nächste Woche stellen wir euch ein paar der interessantesten Deals der letzten Zeit vor, bei denen dank Jamendo Geld für die Künstler rausgesprungen ist…

Weit oben im Nordosten Brasiliens sind Nublado weit entfernt von den pulsierenden trendy Metropolen des Südens. Wir können euch ihren erfrischenden Indie-Pop trotzdem nur wärmstens empfehlen, und das nicht nur, weil wir euch letzte Woche verprochen haben, in der nächsten Zeit öfters über brasilianische Künstler zu berichten.

Leider findet ihr auf Jamendo nur drei Stücke von Nublado, was einzig und allein daran liegt, dass sie bis jetzt nicht mehr aufgenommen haben! Die Band besteht erst seit zwei Jahren und kommt aus Joao Pessoa an der Nordostküste Brasiliens; einer Stadt mit “wenigen Bands, wenigen Clubs und wenigen Bars in denen man auftreten könnte” erklärt Andrei, der Gitarrist von Nublado (portugiesisch für “wolkig”).

Klar, im riesigen Brasilien spielt die Musik sprichwörtlich eher in Sao Paulo oder Rio de Janeiro, aber die Jungs von Nublado versuchen, ihre Region musikalisch gehörig aufzumöbeln: Rayan, der Schlagzeuger stellt seit einigen Jahren ein richtiges Festival auf die Beine und die Band tourt fleißig durch den Bundesstaat Nordeste.

Das soll natürlich nur der Anfang sein. “Wir planen momentan, in Zentral- und Südbrasilien auf Tour zu gehen, und vielleicht auch bald im Ausland, wer weiß…?” In der Zwischenzeit nehmen sie neue Stücke auf, damit es nicht bei einem Album bleibt.

Perché dans le nord-est du Brésil, Nublado est bien loin des villes bouillonnantes et branchées du sud. Toutefois, dans le cadre de notre focus hebdomadaire sur des artistes brésiliens, on ne vous recommande pas moins de jeter une oreille à leur rafraîchissante pop indé.

Vous ne trouverez malheureusement que trois chansons signées Nublado sur jamendo. Simplement parce que c’est là tout ce qu’ils ont enregistré pour le moment ! Le groupe n’existe que depuis deux ans, basé à Joao Pessoa, sur la côte nord-est du Brésil. Une ville avec “peu de groupes, peu de clubs et de bars où jouer”, explique Andrei, guitariste de Nublado (‘nuageux’ en portugais).

Bien sûr, quand on est un musicien dans un pays aussi immense que le Brésil, c’est plutôt à Sao Paulo et Rio de Janeiro que ça se passe. Mais le groupe est très actif lorsqu’il s’agit de faire bouger leur région musicalement: le batteur Rayan a monté un festival il y a quatre ans, et Nublado tourne dans tout le Nordeste et aux alentours.

Et cela ne devrait être que le début. “On projette actuellement une tournée dans le centre et le sud du Brésil, et qui sait, même à l’étranger…” En attendant, ils s’apprêtent à enregistrer de nouveaux titres pour compléter ces trois premiers morceaux décidément très prometteurs.

Far up in Northeastern Brazil, Nublado is a long way away from the bustling, trendy cities of the south. Nevertheless, in keeping with our weekly Brazilian artist focus, we strongly recommend you give their refreshing indie pop a listen.

You’ll sadly find only three songs by Nublado on jamendo. Simply because that’s all they’ve recorded so far! The band has only been together for a couple of years, based in the city of Joao Pessoa, on the Northeastern coast of Brazil. A town with “few bands, few clubs and bars to play in”, explains Andrei, who plays guitar in Nublado (‘cloudy’ in Portuguese).

Sure, when you’re a musician in gigantic Brazil, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is where the action is. But these guys have been active in bringing some musical action in their region: the drummer Rayan has been putting together an entire festival for several years, and the band has been touring in and around the state of Nordeste.

Of course, that should only be the beginning. “Our plans now are to schedule a tour in central and southern Brazil, and who knows even outside the country…” In the meantime, they are going to record new material to complete those quite promising first three songs.

Strange Zero, un duo di musica elettronica di Atene, pubblica su jamendo dal 2006. Per questo abbiamo molto piacere a annunciarvi che il loro ultimo album The NeverLands è stato eletto come uno dei migliori album del 2008 in un concorso organizzato dalla rivista on-line Postwave.gr.

Fra i gruppi, in maggior parte appartenenti a grandi case discografiche, Strange Zero ha vinto l’undicesimo posto.
