Hi, when referring to the whole operating system which uses the Linux kernel, it’s more accurate to call it ‘GNU/Linux’. Please see http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html.

How about just implementing a plain gtk+2 only based app that does this. And provides enqueue commands etc that way it can be integrated into whatever player one uses.
