The new Jamendo embeddable player is out!

Releases are happening faster than we can blog at Jamendo! Today we’re happy to announce that our new embeddable player is stable enough to be published on your blogs or websites.

It is as simple as embedding a Youtube video: just go to any album page on jamendo, cut&paste the “Embed” code in your blog or website and you’re done!

The player is quite special. By default it uses Flash6+ for the sound but if you don’t have Flash installed it degrades nicely and streams M3U playlists instead. We have successfully tested it on Windows, Mac and Linux with all the browsers we had but feel free to report any issues you could have with it.

As a demo, here is a player that runs the latest Tryad album, “Listen” :

As you can see the design is pretty light and simple, we hope you will enjoy it. We will release another player with volume control, skipping, dynamic overlays and all the AJAX stuff we can think of later.

This release was also the last step before our major announcement we have been (not) talking of for weeks… keep an eye on this blog in the next few days ;-)

UPDATE: a smaller player is now also available

If this technology could be adapted to play my playlists via my blog, you folks would be my hero. Trying to use the podpress plugin for this purpose with limited success

really great. one thing though: the buttons are not the standard ones. for skipping a track you would normally expect these:
    >>|

or for the previous track this one:
    |>
which is for fast forward, skipping in the track :)

Is it possible to reduce the size of the player ? It looks to big for my sidebar, would appreciate a width between 200 and 250.
